How far in advance should I book a trial?

I recommend between 3 and 6 months before the wedding, but it’s really up to you when you’d like to have the trial. Ideally your hair length and skin tone will be exactly as it will be on the day of the wedding.

What products do you use?

I have a plethora of products in my kit. All are certified cruelty free, and most are also vegan and/or organic. Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury and Bare Minerals are some of my favourites.

Do I wear makeup to the trial?

Please come with a clean face, free of makeup. The same is true for hair – freshly washed, and dry

Should I bring anything with me to the trial?

You don’t need to bring a thing, unless you particularly want me to use a certain product, i.e. a particular foundation or lip colour, but I do have hundreds!

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, by all means. My studio can cater for you and one other guest.

I don’t want to look like I’m wearing makeup, how much do you apply?

I specialise in a naturally beautiful makeup finish. Of course, in order to achieve a natural look that will be visible in your photographs, you will need to wear more than you might be used to on a day to day basis, but it will not look heavy or caked. Quite the opposite in fact. Naturally beautiful is my signature style.

Will you travel to me for a trial?

All trials happen at my studio in Hampshire, unless it’s impossible for you to travel for any reason. If you require me to come to your home, or elsewhere for the trial, there is an additional fee, plus travel.

What happens at the trial, and how long does it last?

I will take you through a natural makeup look and if you wish to go heavier on the eyes or lips, we can play with colour and depth until you’re perfectly happy. The same is true of your hair. I usually start with the hair down once prepped, then we will try half up, and then a full up do. Some brides know exactly what they’re looking for, but mostly I find it’s helpful if I show you a variety of styles in order for you to make a decision. I also carry a range of beautiful hair accessories and veils for you to try if you haven’t decided what you’d like to wear on the wedding day.

Will my makeup last?

Absolutely! The only touch ups I advise are lipstick/lip gloss and powder to blot away any natural shine later. I provide you with a luxury gift bag including these items so you don’t need to worry. If however you would like me to stay throughout the day and take care of this for you, then it is a service I offer.

Do you have a minimum booking requirement?

Yes. My peak season runs from April 1st through until the end of September. During these months, for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday wedding, there is a minimum booking total of £500, not including travel or other fees.

How far will you travel?

I will travel to the venue where you are getting married, be that anywhere across the UK or overseas. Travel and accommodation fees are in addition, and always apply.

Do you do more than one wedding in one day?

No. You are my priority for the day and as such I only commit to on one wedding per day.

Will you be doing my hair and make-up or will it be someone else?

For you as the Bride, it will always be me who will apply your makeup and style your hair. For other members of your bridal party, I will choose to work with one of my preferred second artists, depending on the size of your bridal party.

I’ve never had my makeup applied professionally before, what should I expect?

I work with a variety of Brides – those who are used to wearing makeup every day and those who don’t. It’s really important to me that you are completely comfortable with the makeup you are wearing, and don’t ‘feel’ it as such. Therefore I will talk you through every step of the process at the trial, so you know exactly what to expect on the wedding day.

Will I receive any products on my wedding day to top up later?

Yes. I provide you with a mini luxury essentials kit to see you through the day, and into the evening.

If I want to book you all day, will you stay at my venue for hair and makeup later?

Absolutely! I will either charge an hourly rate or a full day rate, depending on how long you need me for.
